Basil Salt
Basil grows spring, summer and fall in Texas, so I am always looking for new ways to use fresh basil. This is really great on a Caprese salad, salads in general and pastas.
Basil Salt
1 Tablespoon coarse kosher salt
8-10 Fresh basil leaves
Spice grinder
Heat oven to 225 degrees and line a sheet pan with parchment paper. Make the salt by placing the salt and the washed and dried basil leaves into your spice grinder. Grind for a few seconds until leaves and salt are incorporated. Dry the salt by baking in on the sheet pan for 30 minutes. Cool and store in an airtight container.
